Is online learning beneficial?
This is a question we educators get asked frequently, especially in this current climate, where technology is booming and the pandemic has made schools and places of education transform the way they operate. The basic answer, yes! With the plethora of online platforms at our disposal, a class of 30 students can be online simultaneously, while the teacher interacts with them via a whiteboard tool. Not only does this allow for effective and fun teaching, but the students can also type on the whiteboard, giving them the freedom to answer as they would in a classroom setting.
As well as educational benefits, we’ve found that our online lessons have allowed students to become more self-disciplined. Parents give the utmost support with online learning, and naturally, the students become responsible for their schooling schedule, which then starts to translate to different aspects of their lives.
What the pandemic has shown us is that education can not only survive online, but it can thrive. The convenience of simply opening a laptop and being transported into a virtual classroom means that more time can be spent focusing on the teacher and lesson at hand. As online learning cuts out time traveling to and from school, students find themselves having more time in the day, which can be dedicated to topics they love and enjoy studying.
